Michele James, Founder and President of Avery James, established the firm in 1994 when she integrated several years of multi-industry search experience with her knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense Sector. In this role, Ms. James has managed well over 150 search engagements, with special emphasis in engineering searches for Design/Build, Defense, and Environmental Services Firms.
Prior to founding Avery James, Ms. James worked as Consultant to two large executive search firms where she managed both domestic and international search assignments. She began her career in 1971 with Rockwell International, spending twelve years first as Member of the Technical Staff and subsequently as Member of the Procurement Quality Staff.
Ms. James received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary's College. She is a member of Women in Technology International.
Bill James, Managing Principal, joined Avery James after 25 years of corporate industry experience. Prior to joining Avery James, he was Director, Global Diversity for Applied Materials Inc.
Before joining Applied Materials, Mr. James was Director of West Coast Recruiting for Deloitte & Touche LLP, a leading professional services firm. Mr. James also spent 17 years as Senior Manager for Northrop Grumman's Space & Technology Group in Human Resources, Operations, and Pricing. He has served on numerous engineering academic advisory boards at universities across the nation, and is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles.
